Is he desexed? How old is he? Might be things to think about.
What a horrible situation though - I can really, REALLY feel your pain. I'm just really hoping the vet has some answers and options for you guys, because I'd hate to see you heartbroken. :(

I know you will do what is best for you and that gorgeous cat of yours. You love him so terribly much and you're doing what's best for all of you in this situation. I know you'll explore every option available.
That said...remember that Roxie was a mean horrible cat pre-Liam and now Liam yanks him by his tail with no harm down. Sometimes cats chill WITH kids strange as it might sound.
All might not be lost. Try to go one step at a time here. I hope the vet has some good suggestions for you. You can always see a kitty psychic. I laughed hysterically at my mom for suggesting it once for Roxie but hey...it might not hurt as a last ditch effort. xoxoxoxoxox and 100 baby kisses too.
