Lobstermen used to use these glass floats to mark the locations of their nets, before the age of styrofoam lobster buoys. I got mine in Bar Harbor, Maine, in 2003.

Congrats on finally being in the new house! Love the pics, looks like Kitters is already on a quest to place white kitty fur on the bottle green carpet! And I am envious of the little cubbies next to the fireplace. Little places to put things in charm the heck out of me!
