First it was fun, then it wasn'tA big ice storm came through the upper Southland on Tuesday / Wednesday and coated everything in its path. We had three snow days in a row, which was pretty fun until the power went out last night around 5 PM. We're almost out of firewood, so MB and the dog and I are probably going to go stay at my parents' house and the cat is going to spend the next few days at BoMB's place. I hope to be back home, back in power, and back online by the weekend, but no one knows for sure. In the meantime, here are some fun pictures I took and managed to upload before everything went pear-shaped. Missing everyone! xo vbg ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More pics and a few Indy-in-the-snow videos are up on Flickr if you're interested.

About Me
Name: velocibadgergirl I'm an unrepentant science nerd. I talk too much, read voraciously, and have mostly given up swearing. I have degrees in geology and creative writing, but my job doesn't have too much to do with either. I'm married to MB, the greatest guy on the whole entire planet. We're doing our best to raise a good dog (adopted April 2008) and a happy kid (born January 2010). It's not always easy, but together we're finding our way. velocibadgergirl (at) gmail dot com Categorically DefinedArchives

It's the time of the year for crazy weather. We're in the midst of the worst heat wave in a century down here. It's so hot that the train tracks have melted. Really. Hope you guys can find a warm place to be!
Out of firewood! No power!
I expect your next blog entry to be on how you ate the Christmas candy and the oyster crackers while trying to stay warm in your snow cave.
Stay warm, and hugs to Mr. Happy Indy from his friend Clara Bow. She suggests curling up under sheepskin rugs as a good way to stay warm (she's doing it right now).
Anonymous....LOL! I wasn't expecting a Litte House moment while visiting this blog...
hope the juice comes back soon. stay cozy!
Wow. I live in the South, and we don't get snow, except for the miracle Christmas of three or four years ago. Of course, the next day it all melted away and it was warm enough for me to have snowball fights in my jeans, a tee, and flip-flops. I want to live in a place with SEASONS!
Beautiful pictures!
I love the berries photo! Enter that one in your photo competition if it's not too late ;) Stay warm!!!
THE BLACK DOG IN THE SNOW! EKKKKK!
