Four!

I wasn't planning to do NaBloPoMo this year. After all, I've been consistently slacking on my posting, and things aren't going to get any less hectic in the next month. But then I realized that as hard as blogging at 8 months pregnant might turn out to be, there's probably no chance it compares to blogging with an 11-month-old running around, which blew my "I'll do it next year instead" plan, and so I decided to give it a shot. I really hope this won't be the year that I totally drop the ball.

So, I guess I should maybe do an introduction or something, in case anyone new has found their way over. I'm velocibadgergirl, I'm 28 years old, and I forgot to celebrate my blog's fourth birthday in October. My husband MB and I are pretty big nerds, and we currently share a house with these two characters:

As mentioned, I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant with our first kiddo, a boy we've nicknamed the brachiopod. I expect I'll be writing a lot about our preparations for him this month. What else? I have a cool job that I can't blog about, I like to read, watch geeky TV programs, go camping and hiking (though I'm not doing too much of either these days) and take photographs. I suppose if there's something else you want to know, just ask. It definitely wouldn't hurt to have a few extra things to write about this month, after all.

Playing:  Hazards of Love by the Decemberists. It's faaaabulous.

  2. I also missed the part about the babe being a boy.

I have an idea for a post. I wasn't big on traditional lullabies when my kids were babies. When they were fussy, I used to sing Beatles or James Taylor songs.

What songs do you like that you think would make good lullabies for
    your baby?
